Coffee and Milkshake

Through you I tried to understand me,
And through me I came to you.
Polars apart,
But inked together on the same page
By our pain

I knew not what my psyche was
Until you told me about losing myself again and again.
The black shadows.
The blank mind.
You made it fine,
That I was not screwed.

Drinking coffee in Borders,
You sipped on your childlike milkshake and said,
“Cool”.

We were normal for one moment,
The perfect people, looking down on everyone from Gaza Strip.
Wishing they were fine like us,
Able to drink coffee and sip milkshake to.

Maybe one day they will be fine
And I shall suck banana flavours through a straw
And you will slurp on coffee saying again,
“Cool”.
